The end is the beginning is the end...

After casting aside all knowledge of my previous employer into the metaphoric, ever swirling, trainspotting toilet in the sky; it seemed surreal that the the Asian Odyssey would continue on Singapore!

As usual the first thing to work out transport. This has been sorted with cheap cabs and access to the Mass Rapid Transit aka MRT. Unlike Myki it actually works, Hazaa! In fact when asked, commuters often (and happily) reply "I travel everywhere via BMW; bus, walk and MRT"!

HQ is at Capitol Tower near Tanjong Pagar station, and digs at the Swissotel***** making essential Singapore experiences a breeze.

1) Singapore Sling at the Raffles... while a dodgy cover band plays "Hey Jude" & eating peanuts (check)
2) White Pepper & Chilli Crab at the Eastern Seafood Centre (check)
3) Visit to Casino while Iron Chef is being Filmed (check)
4) Bumping into Stereophonics on my way to purchase a Samsonite bag (check)... and gees Kelly was small. My past colleagues would also gush loudly should I explain he was using an iPhone 4 at the time... GUSH!
5) Visit New Asia nightclub at midnight or later... seriously it was like meeting Han Solo at Chalmun's Cantina... weird nordic dudes, indian's dancing with full bottles of vodka in each hand, crazy views of all of Singapore on level 71 (check)

My only direct report took all of my spare change to "bet on red" I wandered the Casino knowing full well my SingDollars were blown. No matter, one of the murky big 4 had hooked me up with the best tailor in town - Elton at the Lucky Plaza, Orchid Street.

Elton is an ageing, and cranky old man. Refusing to haggle his outlet sports signage quoting "most sales are only made after the customer has said no more than six times" in my case this was true! If only Shoeless Paul (his one employee) would listen!

Elton's computer skills have also enabled him to implement a screen saver collage of soft mid-80's porn which "keep his best customers coming back"; and, facilitate his favourite workplace fringe benefit "measuring up the ladies"... Shoeless Paul could only dream of such success, but was clearly biding his time in the back of the shop.

Even better my big 4 friend was particularly handy in photography... and in 15 minutes I now understand the essential photography exposure triangle, no doubt my G11 will transform into a 60D overnight...

After a week it was time to rush home, hug Jack and order in pizza with Lu - like Elton I have it all =)
